Meet one of the new Charlie’s Angels

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

Meet one of the new Charlie’s Angels! Minka is officially cast as one of three new angels coming to a television near you. Here’s a little bit of information on her character as it stands now below.

Kelly’s character, Marisa, is as “a former U.S. Marine, a weapons expert trained in all forms of hand-to-head combat and a neat freak.”

Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh round out the cast as the other two. Here’s hoping the show doesn’t fail and we get to see Minka back on screen more often

Minka is Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive, 2010

Monday, October 11th, 2010

Minka Kelly is officially Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive for 2010. The magazine settled down with her to discuss growin up, hobbies and her life. Congratulations to Minka on the amazing win. It’s definitely well deserved. I’ll add photos from the shoot later on in the week, but for now, they have images on the Esquire site and you’ll find the link below to go view them.

“Done with the twenties. I’m confident — confident in my skin, and I’m cool with my flaws and all that stuff. It just feels nice to be at peace with yourself. I think my thirtieth birthday gave me permission to have all that. The twenties were a pain in the ass — figuring it all out. What am I doing? Where do I go?”

Minka Kelly ‘proud of cancer fundraising’

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Minka Kelly has stated that she is proud of her work raising funds to fight cancer.

The actress told OK that her fundraising efforts are inspired by the memory of her mother Maureen, who died from the disease in 2008.

Kelly was honoured at the Self Magazine Women Doing Good ceremony earlier this week for her fundraising activities with Stand Up To Cancer.

“It’s (the award) extremely flattering,” she said. “To be recognised for this kind of work is gratifying because people are paying attention to your cause.”

While she finds her charity work rewarding, Kelly admitted that it is still difficult to cope with the loss of her mother.

“Doing this kind of work doesn’t ever fill a void when you lose someone, but it definitely fills you with a sense of purpose.

“You’re fighting back for the ones you love. It makes you feel like you’re not just sitting there.”

The star concluded: “I wish well-wishes on anyone who has to deal with this. It’s devastating.”
